This region, known in Spanish as Segura Baja, is one of the most developed in all of Alicante - with
major seaside resorts like Torrevieja and Guardamar, many holiday towns with urbanisations of villas, such as Rojales, Ciudad Quesada and Almoradi and several golf courses, this area continues to attract
huge numbers of visitors each year.
The main exception to this is the lovely old monastic town of Orihuela - still a traditional town, with windy
streets and lovely architecture, Orihuela is really worth a visit.
There are strong English language communities all over the region, especially on the coast.
