Busot is the nearest town to
the Cabeço d’Or. The dry, whitesh, uneven countryside only allows for dry farming, which is the traditional basis of the town’s economy. Today, tourism and services occupy most of the population.
3km away on the northern slopes of the cabeço Dór, 700m up, are the famous caves of canalobre. The interior resembles a great cathedral with various limestone formations in the shape of
enormous candelabra. The caves can be visited all year round.
Busot is a small town with around 1373 inhabitants which huddles
at the foot of the hill, surrounded by a 12th century Muslim castle. The castle which is in ruins was part of the defenses of Medieval Alicante.
