To the south, a wooded green valley famous for being the toy making capital of Spain, this pretty region is
hugely popular being so well connected to Alicante and the airport, but retaining a lovely old Spain feel to its towns and countryside.
Further north, toward the city of Alcoy itself, the region becomes more moutainous with a harsher climate where
snow in winter is not unknown.
There are strong English language communities around Castalla, Onil, Ibi and especially Tibi which has two
rustic urbanisations known as Finca Terol and Castalla International.
