 The clayey, whitish soil of the
Sierra del Ventós or del Castellar has been the source of the traditional wealth of Agost pottery. Bricks, household equipment and above all, pitchers ad water bottles in the typical ivory white colour
form the principal industry here.
Together with the traditional potters craft, brick making is the main source of income today, with a total of nine factories. The
same soils have favoured the planting of vines throughout the area and enable Agost to belong to the Bagged Tables Grapes Area Denomination for the Aledo and Ilatia varieties.
